Hurrican Hilary

Updated: Oct 9, 2024

By Evelyn E.

Hurricane Hilary happened from August 16 through August 21, 2023. She broke records in four states, including California, for the wettest tropical cyclone. She was also a category three hurricane.

This image shows some information about the categories. You can see that category three is from 111 MPH to 129 MPH.

Here is some damage from Hurricane Hilary. Houses flooded, and trees fell, people's homes were destroyed. So you see hurricane Hilary was a very big deal.

But even though a lot was destroyed a lot of people helped get the city cleaned.

In the AV some damage was done. Flash floods affected the roads, and some houses had serious flooding.  Some of the other parts of the AV just had a rainy day.
