Miss Cheryl Espinosa has been a teacher since 1985. She is one of Learning Together AV’s teachers where she teaches two different classes: Tk to kindergarten, and kindergarten to first grade. She heard about Learning Together from one of our other teachers, Miss Joy Densford.
A normal day teaching for Miss Cheryl is busy! She starts the day off with greeting the kids who come in. And then do centers where they're free to choose anything that's out in the room to do . Then they clean up a little bit of it. They do morning meetings; morning meetings always end with a read aloud. The read aloud is where she's working with them on learning how to be able to tell who the characters of the story are, what the plot is, what the setting is, what the problem is in the story, and what the solution was. And then they have lunch. They play then they finish their day with a closing up, doing centers that they didn't get to do. Last, they end with usually a second read aloud story that's just for a fun story and again a song and then they leave.
When asked why she likes teaching she said the following “I like to teach because it is fulfilling to know that what I am doing is helping a little one grow to their potential at the age that they are at."

Using thematic play-based activities, this supplemental class will reinforce what your young learner is learning at home. We’ll engage in the power of storytelling through read-a-louds and fairy tales to support the development of literacy and language. Letter and number recognition, reading comprehension and basic introduction to math and science are among the subjects they will experience through learning centers. Your young learners will delight in 2.5 hours exploring fun, interactive, tactile experiences structured to enhance the developing skills of students in TK and kindergarten or 1st grade.
