Pizza Place Field Trip by Evelyn E. and Wyatt D.

Updated: May 17, 2024

LTAV teacher Joy Densford scheduled a field trip for fun with Captain Tony’s Pizza. After discussing this with one of the Co-owners, they decided to do it on January 22nd, 2024. The first field trip session started at 10:00 am and ended at noon, whereas the second one began at noon and ended at 3:00 pm. All kids at LTAV were invited, but there were limited spots. When they got there, the owners were extremely excited to host the children.

At ten o'clock, the t-k kids started to make pizzas. The owners showed them how to make the dough and how to put cheese and other toppings on the pizzas. The parents helped hold them up to make pizza because they were eye-to-eye with the counters!

During the second session, one of the Co-owners told everyone about the history of pizza and many other facts about pizza in preparation for a trivia game they would play later. The kids who came for the second session were split into two groups after the Co-owner had stopped talking.

The first group called in had to wash their hands to keep everything clean. Step two was spreading out the dough and then placing it in a machine that automatically made the dough smoother. Step three was dumping the sauce on the pizza; everyone was given the option to have it done for them. Followed by step four, choosing the toppings, and step five, cutting their pizza. After all of these steps, they place their pizza inside a transportable, transparent, plastic-made box.

After the first group finished, the second group went to the back. The second group had to repeat all the same steps as the first group. After everyone finished making their pizza, the co-owners began the trivia game. Many people won and got special prizes! Julia, who attended, stated it was (and I quote) “Really fun!”’

In conclusion, everyone who went had a great time. And LTAV wants to go again. Hopefully, you can go as well.
